The Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA) has responsibilities for the planning, regulation, and development of underutilized areas of the State as designated by the Hawaii State Legislature.  HCDA is responsible for the redevelopment of the Kakaʻako Community Development District in central Honolulu and the Kalaeloa Community Development District in Leeward Oahu.  HCDA is administratively attached to the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), State of Hawaii.  [Reference:  Chapter 206E, Hawaii Revised Statutes.]

 

The Planning and Development Branch is responsible for district planning and development functions, including administration of the applicable plan and rules,  facilitating development by providing consultation services, developing State, and/or HCDA-owned, properties, and assisting with planning or improvement projects.

 

This position is a senior professional planner position in HCDA’s Planning & Development.  The primary function of this position is to organize, direct, coordinate, and conduct HCDA’s planning, zoning and plan enforcement activities in accordance with applicable community development district plan and rules, and any amendment thereto, as well as general supervision.
