Leo Asuncion, Jr., AICP Voted President-Elect of APA's Board of Directors

APA-HI congratulates Leo Asuncion, Jr., AICP on his election as the American Planning Association Board of Directors' new President-Elect! Leo has been a tireless advocate for the planning profession for over 25 years and is knowledgeable of the issues facing the profession locally and nationally. Presently a Commissioner for the Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission, Leo formerly served as Director of the State’s Office of Planning, Manager of the State’s Coastal Zone Management Program, and a Planner for various State agencies and private firms.  Leo has also been active at the National-level of the American Planning Association since 2001 and presently serves as Director of Region V.  Leo's term as APA President-Elect will begin on January 1, 2020.
