Celebrating Kiersten Faulkner's Induction Into the AICP College of Fellows

APA Hawaii Chapter President Mike Shibata and the Chapter's Past President Tessa Munekiyo Ng with Kiersten Faulkner.

A reception to honor Kiersten Faulkner’s induction into the American Planning Association’s (APA) American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) College of Fellows was held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. The reception was held by the APA Hawaiʻi Chapter and the Historic Hawaiʻi Foundation at the YWCA Laniakea Center’s, Café Julia. The venue was fitting as the YWCA Laniakea Center is a historically significant building and is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.

Chapter leadership as well as members of Hawaiʻi’s historic preservation and planning community were in attendance with some attendees providing a few words on Ms. Faulkner’s contributions and career. Information on Ms. Faulkner’s background and accomplishments that supported her nomination to the College of Fellows are discussed in a recent Chapter newsletter article on her induction into the college.
