AICP College of Fellows, Nomination Information and 2022 Guidelines

If you have been a member of AICP in good standing for at least 15 years and have made noteworthy contributions to the planning profession during your career, you are eligible to be considered for nomination to the AICP College of Fellows.
Induction to the College of Fellows is the highest honor that AICP bestows on a member. The APA Hawaii Chapter has the distinction of having one of the highest number of Fellows per capita of all chapters throughout the nation, which is a tribute to the value that Hawaii places on the planning profession.
The reward for a Fellow is not just the recognition itself, but also the nomination process. It involves a lot of dedicated time and work for the nominee, and those who have done it observe that perhaps the most unexpected value of the experience is the opportunity to reflect on one’s career and get in touch with both present and former colleagues and mentors to ask for their letter of support. In retrospect, it is a reminder why the nominee chose to become a planner, what path the career took, and where it yet may lead. It is also a way to reconnect with the people who were important in shaping one’s education and career in planning.
